Cross Country is a Fall Sport. It starts the day school starts in August. A Cross Country meet is 3 miles in length, the courses terrain varies greatly. They can be in parks, desert trails, routes through school campus, and sports complexes. Our District meet is around Halloween at the end of October. The State meet is in the beginning of November and has been held in Rio Rancho for the past few years.

Practice is every day after school for an hour from first day of school till the end of October. We meet on the NMSU campus where we have access to a variety of areas to run, from field workouts to desert trails and running along the canals in the shade of the pecan trees.
