LCPS students 15 and older can earn up to $2,600 this summer with a paid internship

If you are in high school or just recently graduated, we can help you get job experience! PAID internships will be offered to area students at least 15 years of age. Recent 2022 high school graduates may participate as well.

Student interns will work part-time (typically 20 hours per week), not to exceed 200 hours for the length of the program and will be paid $13.00 per hour. That could be up to $2,600 for the summer!

Internships will give students an idea about what it is like to have a career, while developing marketable soft skills that are important to employers such as communication, teamwork and problem solving in the workplace. Students can add the internship experience to their resume and college application. Specific details about job assignments and program information will be shared with students during program orientation.

The High School Summer Internship Program is for high school students 15 years of age or older. Students can work on a part-time basis, typically 20 hours per week, but not to exceed 200 hours over the course of the summer. There are over 800 positions to fill, and students’ career interests will be a priority consideration. Applicants can click here to learn more, or students can apply directly using this link.

Selected students are required to attend one of three employee orientation sessions at Doña Ana County on Thursday, May 26 at 2 p.m., Friday, May 27 at 9 a.m. or Friday, May 27 at 2 p.m.
