LCPS Bilingual Community Outreach Program receives NMSBA Excellence in Student Achievement Award

“Dr. Aine Garcia-Post, Ben Serrano, Martha Jasmine Granillo Saucedo, Cynthia Parmelee, and Karina Herrera — these incredible people provide social supports, enrichment opportunities, and intervention services to students and their families in our community,” said Ed Frank, LCPS Board of Education member.

“Some of the services they provide are the Empowered Parent’s Academy (EPA), which provides LCPS parents, families and community members with adult education programs. Programs such as, learning a second or third language, working toward a GED, or learning about technology.

When parents are empowered, they can better help their children be successful. A community is only as strong as its most vulnerable members are, and the Bilingual Community Outreach Program promotes a connected and thriving community for everyone.

Thank you so much,” added Frank.
