Reminder: 'One Pill Can Kill’ Presentation Addresses Fentanyl Awareness

Parents,

We hope you can still join us for "One Pill Can Kill", a conversation with the Drug Enforcement Administration and the New Mexico National Guard on the threat of fentanyl in our community.

According to the DEA, fake prescription drugs can be trafficked on social media under familiar names like Xanax, Adderall or Percocet, but dealers are making the fake pills with cheaper, stronger and more deadly substances like fentanyl – which is 50 times more potent than heroin and 100 more times more potent than morphine. Fentanyl is odorless, tasteless and colorless and – as the presentation suggests – one pill can kill you.

This event is open to the public Tuesday, Feb. 28 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Dr. Karen M. Trujillo Administration Complex. Translation services will be available.
