From the 1962 yearbook at Las Cruces High School, the FFA (Future Farmers of America) group stands as part of a proud and enduring tradition. That year, these students earned multiple awards at the State Fair in Albuquerque, showcasing their skill, dedication, and deep roots in agricultural excellence.

Today, the strong FFA program at LCHS continues that legacy, preparing students for leadership, hands-on learning, and success in agriculture and beyond, just as it did more than 60 years ago.

This is Las Cruces Public Schools, then and now.

Today, the Career and Technical Education team at Las Cruces Public Schools partnered with New Mexico State University to host the Elevate New Mexico: Career & Energy Expo, bringing opportunity, exploration, and inspiration together in one place.

More than 1,500 students from across Southern New Mexico spent the day on the NMSU campus exploring hands-on career pathways in energy, engineering, healthcare, law enforcement, agriculture, media, and more.

Students also experienced college life firsthand, touring campus, sitting in on classes, and getting a real glimpse of their future.

Through interactive workshops, pathway tours, and a large-scale equipment expo, students connected directly with industry professionals and local businesses, gaining valuable insight into the many career opportunities available right here in New Mexico.

A huge thank you to our incredible partners, sponsors, community organizations, and LCPS staff who made today possible and who continue helping students see what’s ahead.

Flashback Friday!

In 1999, the Las Cruces High School Bulldawg Football team went 14–0 under Coach Jim Miller and finished the season with a state championship win over Roswell Goddard.

But what they built did not end that year.

You can still feel it today in the pride of Friday nights, in the way this community shows up to support athletics, and in every Bulldawg who takes the field believing in something bigger than themselves.

This is Las Cruces Public Schools, then and now.
